Do you know why a getaway to the Kemer area is worth it?

Kemer region consists of six beautiful villages stretching along the Turkish Mediterranean coast, offering visitors various ways to explore the beauty of Turkey's nature and culture.
Beldibi:
The village is approximately 7 km long, with the main street running parallel to the coastline. There are hotels of different classes, souvenir shops, cafes, and bars. All of these are making evening strolls in the village very pleasant and rather peaceful. As Beldibi is the closest village to Antalya Airport, it’s popular with families with young children who appreciate the quick hotel transfer after the flight. Many hotels feature lush greenery and pine forests, creating a true holiday atmosphere. The surrounding mountains seem almost within reach, offering scenic views right from the hotel rooms. Near Beldibi, there are also lightly trafficked hiking trails in the mountains, ideal for adventurous explorers. However, caution is advised—rocks can be loose, so for those without experience or equipment, it’s best to go with an experienced guide. The mountains can also be enjoyed on a Jeep safari or by rafting down the rivers.

The next village after Beldibi is Göynük, where the hotel selection is relatively small compared to other areas, but which still offers plenty of exciting opportunities to explore local life and entertainment. For children, there is Dinopark, where families can dive into the world of dinosaurs. The park features various interactive attractions, including dinosaur models, playgrounds, and educational exhibits that help children and adults alike understand how these giants once lived.
Nature lovers and adventure seekers can enjoy Göynük Canyon, known for its turquoise waters and stunningly beautiful green surroundings. This area is ideal for hiking and going on canyon adventures. While the seaside part of the village is more tourist-oriented, it’s worth visiting the mountain side as well, especially on Fridays when the popular market day takes place. On this day, a wide range of local products are sold, including fresh fruits and vegetables, clothing and footwear, as well as local handicrafts like jewelry and souvenirs.

Kemer is the vibrant heart of the region, offering a variety of accommodations, from budget-friendly apartment hotels near the mountains to luxurious beachfront hotels. The town boasts numerous shops, restaurants, and the three largest nightclubs in the area, as well as karaoke bars and live music venues, providing a lively nightlife scene. The popular Moonlight Beach invites sunbathers with comfortable beach chairs, which in the evening transform into cozy dining spots right on the sand. Near Kemer’s marina, there’s a dolphinarium with performances on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays, where visitors can also swim with dolphins (price upon request).
One of Kemer’s standout landmarks is the clock tower, visible from afar and marking the town centre. Inside the clock tower, there’s a restaurant offering an excellent dinner with a sunset view. From this central spot, you can start exploring Kemer—whether you’re in the mood for seaside discos or browsing bustling streets and shops. Every Monday, a large fruit and vegetable market is set up near the clock tower, and for market enthusiasts, another market opens on Thursdays near the marina, offering souvenirs, local crafts, and much more.

Göynük: Nature and peaceful retreat, Kemer: nightlife and entertainment

Last but not least is the village of Tekirova, celebrated for its beautiful beach and access to the famous Olympos-Beydağları National Park hiking trails. Tekirova area attracts nature lovers with its deep waters and rich marine life, offering excellent snorkelling and diving opportunities. The village has several hotels, featuring a variety of accommodations, spacious territories, and exceptional service.
Near Tekirova, there is located a famous Mount Tahtalı, accessible by cable car, which provides panoramic views across the entire region and the option to experience tandem paragliding. During summer, it can be cooler at the mountaintop, sometimes even with snow, creating a striking contrast to the warm coastline below and offering visitors a unique experience. A short drive from Tekirova is the Ulupınar Şelale Restaurant, where you can enjoy a truly unique dining experience amidst the flowing mountain river. Relaxing Kiriş, sunny Çamyuva, and nature-filled Tekirova

All these villages can be conveniently explored using local transport—Dolmuş. These small minibuses are an affordable and popular way to travel within Kemer and to nearby destinations, like Antalya. Each village has a main road where dolmuşes run, and they’re easy to spot; simply stand and wave to the driver at a designated stop, marked by a post with a "D" sign. The route is always displayed on the front window of the dolmuş, so it’s easy to see the destination. The fare is between 2 and 4 lira, and while you can pay in euros, it’s cheapest to use the local currency. To stop, just signal the driver, as dolmuşes run flexibly, adjusting stops to passenger needs.
Kemer also has plenty of bright yellow taxis, often found at designated taxi stands across town. Though city rides aren’t very expensive, note that night fares are double.
Kemer’s beaches are mostly natural pebble beaches, with larger stones in some areas, though a few hotels have brought in sand along the shoreline to create a softer surface for guests.
